A baby zebra is the newest addition to the National Zoo and Aquarium.
The three-week-old foal is part of an international breeding program where zoos are working to increase numbers of the endangered species.
Wildlife supervisor Bec Scott says the zebra will be sent off to take part in his own breeding program next year.
“We actually have quite a successful breeding program her at the zoo. Malawi is our tenth born here at the zoo and basically all our zebra fouls, once they’ve reached a year or a little bit older they actually go off to other zoos and participate in their own breeding program”.
